Best crispy puffs in Singapore. The skin is so crispy and soft that you need to be gentle holding it or it will crumble in your hands. The fillings occupy 100% of the interior space with no air pockets. What you see is what you get. And what you get is one heavenly puff. They have 4 different types - curry chicken, black pepper chicken, sardines and yam paste. All are fantastic. They are so popular you should call in to order before hand or you might have to wait up to 1 hour even though they are already furiously churning out puff after puff after puff.
It’s not easy to get what I want at this stall cos the yam puffs often sold out. Today I could order the sardine and yam puffs - just have to wait about half an hour so I cold order my tea and return. Just in time to have hot and crispy puffs for my lunch. The sardine, yam and curry puffs are $1.80 each but the pepper curry chicken is $1.80. Both of my ordered puffs are really nice - not just hot and crispy but also tasty. The fillings are packed so I are more fillings than pastry. Yam was not too sweet and has yam taste. Will try the curry and pepper chicken puffs soon.
I'm a fan of curry puffs but why didn't I know of this place earlier?! Happened to pass by around 6pm on a Saturday and saw the eldery owners making the puffs by hand 🥹 Thankful to our local hawkers for their hard work, as we get to have a wide variety of yummy food at reasonable prices. Bought a curry puff ($1.80) to try and it was still very hot! The filling was quite moist and the chicken & potatoes were in large chunks. Crispy exterior, as per its stall name 😆 I would prefer it to be spicier/ have a stronger curry taste, but this one would be more mainstream and suitable for people who can't take much spice. After finishing my curry puff, I went back to get a yam puff but it was sold out! 🥲 Only curry puffs were left so I dabao another one for supper. Would be back to try their yam puffs next time.
