I understand if the store is busy and there are many orders. Peak hours happen everywhere. But if the waiting time is around 50 minutes, you already have a sign that could inform customers — so why not use it? Or is that sign only meant to appear when staff are about to knock off and no longer want to accept new orders? If I had known in advance that one fried rice would take nearly 50 minutes, I could have decided whether to wait or buy something else. That is the customer’s basic right — to make an informed choice. Instead, there was no warning at all. Nothing on the kiosk, no sign displayed, and no staff member mentioned it. I placed my order, went to settle other things, came back, and the food was still not ready. Only then was I told to wait until 7 PM. So apparently, customers only find out the real waiting time after paying. What an interesting business model. Good service is not only about cooking fast — it is about communicating honestly. Customers come to buy food, not to play guessing games or test their patience. Please improve your service and respect people’s time.
Great food and service as always! Just wondering if there’s another way to pack the egg for takeout? 😭
Visiting WOK HEY, the ordering process was notably streamlined thanks to a QR code system—a hassle-free start to the meal. The staff were efficient and unobtrusive, which is always appreciated. The main event, the Satay Chicken Fried Rice, was a solid dish. The rice had a pleasant turmeric flavor, and the ‘wok hey’—the smoky aroma from the wok—was present, though subtle. Fresh cucumbers and onions added a necessary crunch, and the peanut sauce provided a hint of sweetness that was interesting but didn’t steal the show. The portion size was surprisingly ample, leaving some to take home—which is a plus in my book. My wife and I left satisfied, feeling that the dish was a good choice for a casual meal out. In short, while the Satay Chicken Fried Rice at WOK HEY won’t be winning any gourmet awards, it’s a hearty, flavorful option that’s worth trying if you’re in the area before it’s rotated off the menu. I’m sad that it’s going to be off the menu soon 🥲
