(OTH) For my meal, I chose the Egg Fried Rice with Grilled Chicken, priced at $8.40 for takeout, and I paid using a gift voucher I received from ERA. I appreciate the compliment! At first, I experienced some issues with the $5 welcome gift vouchers from Grab, as they occasionally seemed to disappear. Ultimately, I was unable to use the voucher them. A Brief Introduction to WOK HEY Recently, the term WOK HEY has gained popularity, particularly among those who enjoy cooking with intense heat. “Wok hei,” meaning "breath of the wok" in Cantonese, refers to the rich, smoky, and slightly charred flavour that food develops when stir-fried in a very hot wok—usually over 50,000 BTUs. This unique taste results from high temperatures, quick tossing, oil vaporization, making it a key element in dishes like fried rice. Here’s a typical experience with WOK HEY—though it’s still wok hei!—I noticed how the high heat was especially effective when frying rice with ingredients like chicken and vegetables etc. **My Experience** The dish was quite tasty. The service was prompt, and there was no waiting in line. I placed my new order directly via the Grab app. at the outlet. To assess the approximate wait time after placing my order, I observed that with three cooks working, the process was fairly smooth. Although the staff were courteous, I think there is room for improvement in the service quality. The prices are quite fair, but I noticed that ordering straight from the stall is considerably cheaper than ordering through the app. You can either pick it up yourself. **Health-Conscious Choices** It's essential for the cooks to use less salt in their dishes to encourage healthier eating options. I understand that the quality and flavour can differ between outlets, so I am conducting a few surveys to ensure that WOK HEY delivers the best wok hei experience I can have. 👍 Good wok hey by the cooks🧑🍳. Thaqif NaufalI could have given a 5-star rating, but this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a Wok Hey outlet and it was my first time buying food from the Tampines Hub branch. Although the shop was already open when I arrived, I came just 5–10 minutes early. However, the staff (makcik) told me to came at 10:30 AM. She could have simply taken my order then when I came back at 10:30 AM, I came wait and she said I had to wait I noticed she was on the phone and the cook (abang). While I understand he was occupied with prep work, should always serve customer first. Customers shouldn’t have to wait unnecessarily just to place an order especially when they’re hungry. Additionally, when the (Makcik) staff asked if I wanted chili, I said no. However, it seems she didn’t inform the cook, and the dish still ended up spicy. Just because I’m Malay doesn’t mean I automatically like spicy food preferences vary from person to person. Not everyone like spicy food. I work part-time in the F&B industry myself, so I understand abit how things operate. However, should always serve customer first before handling other tasks.
Izwan YusoffIm facing exactly the same situation as the previous reviewer. Online website said less than 10min. Hence i ordered. When i come to store 10-20min waiting time signage shows. Fine i go somewhere else and come back. After 25min still got no notification and my order status still preparing. Thus i go to store and ask for my order its ALREADY ON THE TABLE. Why no one send me the notification like other store? 4 staff in store and nobody bother? And i got the text on 835pm? Imagine if i wait for the notifications? Please respect people time.
