Ro CToday, my friend and I visited Wingstop to try the student meal, and it turned out to be one of the most uncomfortable experiences I’ve had at a fast food outlet. The cashier staff, named R. Vigi, made the entire interaction unnecessarily awkward. When I showed my polytechnic student card, she looked at it in a very judgmental way and immediately asked, “Is this you?” I confirmed that it was and even offered to show my SingPass for verification. Instead of resolving the situation, she then asked, “Is this your daughter?” Excuse me…? It left me completely stunned and embarrassed in front of my friend. After I said no, she continued questioning me about what I was studying and claimed that the student meal is only for those aged 18 and below. This was confusing because a student meal should be for students who can present a valid student card. My card clearly shows an issue date of 2024, so it is still valid. I even checked online afterwards and could not find any mention of an age restriction for the student meal. If different outlets enforce different rules, there should at least be clear signage to avoid misleading customers. To make things worse, she then request that we complete a survey and give her a rating, which felt quite inappropriate given the situation. Overall, this was a very disappointing first experience. Staff who are front-facing should be trained to communicate respectfully and handle situations professionally, without making customers feel judged or embarrassed.

I really appreciate the great service! The food was really yummy and satisfying. Kudos to the person who answered my call and assisted me so patiently. Garlic Parmesan and Louisiana Rub flavors are best!
