Decided to give this place a try to add it to my growing lontong library of the area. I requested half the serving amount of ketupat, and they seemed to make up for it with a rather generous serving of cabbage, which I appreciated. The gravy leaned more towards a spicy profile than the rich, creamy coconut lemak flavour I usually look for in a good lontong, and that was even before mixing in the sambal. The sambal itself added another layer of heat without changing the overall flavour profile much. One thing I did enjoy was the serundeng, which added a pleasant crumbly texture and subtle roasted coconut aroma that paired nicely with the ketupat. Portion was decent and the meal was prepared quickly. While it wasn't quite the style of lontong that I personally prefer, it's still a satisfying bowl if you enjoy a spicier interpretation over one that's heavier on the coconut richness.
Grew up eating from this stall & now the biz has successfully been passed down to the next gen without losing the authenticity of the past, great job! They thoughtfully separated the gravy for takeaway which is just awesome! My “go to” place because of the cuttlefish sambal sauce they use to mix into the longtong. Take note that all the Malay stalls here does only BF & lunch. Most of them would have sold out by early afternoon.
Your standard of Nasi Rawon is just like this?? Daylight robbery. The one that bought is an adult. Its like children eat portion. And the meat? Is not even one big piece. Worst serving.
