My wife and I are always on the hunt for late-night halal food spots, and The Shakehouse happened to be one of our recent supper adventures. Finding halal food options that are still open late at night can sometimes be a challenge, so it’s always nice to come across a place where Muslim families, couples, and groups of friends can enjoy a meal without worrying about food options. For this visit, we ordered the spicy ramen and decided to upsize both of the bowls for an additional $5+🤪. At first glance, the portion looked absolutely massive. The serving bowl was huge, and it definitely gave the impression that you’re getting a lot of food for your money. If you’re someone with a big appetite or you’re sharing a late-night meal after a long day, the portion size is certainly one of the stronger points. That said, after trying it, the ramen itself tasted very familiar. It reminded me a lot of standard Shin Ramyun and Samyang noodles that many of us already have at home. While the presentation and creamy spicy sauce added some appeal, the noodles themselves didn’t feel particularly unique or exclusive to the restaurant. If you’re expecting a completely original ramen experience, you may find it a little underwhelming. However, if you’re simply craving a comforting bowl of spicy noodles in a halal setting late at night, it definitely does the job. The flavour was enjoyable overall. The sauce was rich, creamy, and had enough spice to satisfy those who enjoy a bit of heat without being overwhelmingly spicy. The toppings were decent, and the overall dish was filling. It felt like comfort food more than gourmet dining, which honestly isn’t a bad thing when it’s close to midnight and you’re just looking for a satisfying meal. One thing that may divide opinions is the pricing. Our bill came up to more than $50 per person, which puts it on the higher side for what is essentially elevated instant noodle-based dishes and beverages. Whether that’s worth it depends entirely on what you’re looking for. If you’re paying purely for the food itself, some may feel it’s expensive. If you’re paying for the convenience of having halal food available late at night, a comfortable place to sit, and a spot to spend quality time with family or friends, then the value proposition becomes a bit more understandable. The atmosphere was comfortable for a casual supper date, and we enjoyed spending time there. Not every meal needs to be a Michelin-star experience. Sometimes, having a reliable halal supper spot available when most places are already closed is valuable in itself. Overall, I’d give The Shakehouse 4/5 stars. Good late-night halal option, generous portions, satisfying comfort food, and a convenient place for supper. Whether it’s worth the price is something each diner will have to decide for themselves, but for those who enjoy midnight food hunting like my wife and I, it’s definitely a place worth trying at least once. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

The staff were very attentive to our needs, food were served timely and they evem went out of the way to sing happy birthday to 2 of our colleagues! Will definitely recommend Shakehouse for big group gatherings! Thank you for making our gathering a joyous occasion!

Decided to bring my in laws family here to try out this restaurant that was hyped. To summarize, it was a big let down, and this is being polite. To verify, i am the customer that made a reservation for 24Jan26/1845. Let me start with the only good thing from this place, and that was the service. The staff handled what was about to happen to the best she could and i dont blame her for any of this. My order arrived first, beef ribs rendang. I was amazed at the portion to be honest. I tasted the gravy and i liked it. But that became a great disappointment soon. The 'meat' provided was mostly just fats with nowhere for me to cut the meat. Ask your staff. I did not cut anything from the meat. The waitress handled it to the best she could by providing a meat replacement with extra rendang gravy. It was slightly better as i was able to scrap of 3-4 spoonful of meat and that was it, Most of it was fats. Ive eaten beef ribs from different steakhouse and cafes. It looks nothing like that. Look at this restaurant's menu picture for beef ribs and compare to the food below. In what way does it look similar? After that the ramen dishes came. On the menu it placed, ramen noodles. What came looked and tasted like your maggie noodles (non spicy) and samyang noodles (spicy). Of course i cant confirm 100%, since im not in the kitchen, but this is what it looked and tasted like. If i knew it was maggie noodles, i would not have served it to my toddlers. I thought it would be something like ichikokudo etc. where they actually used ramen noodles. Additionally some of the noodles were still crunchy. The oxtail dish was also no better, more bones and fats than any meat. Apart from the service staff who handled it well, this is by far, the worst cafe experience i have ever had. And we have been trying cafes since Iam cafe started. Felt like it was not worth any of my dollars. It will be my first, and definitely my last. Would not recommend this place at all.
