I decided to head to Coffee Bean at VivoCity for a quick lunch after spotting a huge promotion outside the store advertising a pizza-and-drink combo. The same promotion was also playing prominently on their digital screens inside the café. Great, I thought—that’s exactly what I’ll have. Well… plot twist. After queuing and placing my order, I was told the promotion was no longer available. Now I’m genuinely curious: if the promotion has ended, why is there still a giant signboard outside and a digital screen inside happily advertising it? Either someone forgot to update the marketing, or the advertisements are living in a different timeline from the staff. Never mind, I decided to settle for a hot coffee instead. Another surprise awaited me. When my coffee arrived, it came in a paper cup. This isn’t a Coffee Bean Express kiosk—it’s a full café with proper seating. If I’m dining in, I expect my hot coffee to be served in a proper ceramic mug, not a takeaway cup. What’s more disappointing is that nobody informed me beforehand. I only found out after receiving my drink, and when I asked, I was simply told that this outlet only serves paper cups. That’s rather ironic. A café experience without actual coffee cups. As for the service, I wasn’t expecting five-star hospitality, but a little friendliness and willingness to help would have gone a long way. The café wasn’t even busy, yet the interaction felt rushed and indifferent. So, here’s the overall experience: ● Misleading promotional advertisements that were still displayed despite the offer no longer being available. ● Dine-in customers being served hot drinks in paper cups without any prior notice. ● Customer service that left much to be desired. Congratulations, Coffee Bean VivoCity—you’ve officially earned the title of the most disappointing Coffee Bean outlet I’ve visited so far. ⭐️
Not equipped for large crowds/multiple orders. Ordered my regular hot Americano, and after a good while, saw the person AFTER me in line getting their order before me, alongside a host of others. Had to approach the drinks counter to get them to make my drink; wasn't even on any of the screens on display, and ofc, my buzzer number was nowhere to be seen. Definitely look out to make sure they don't skip over your order.
drop by for some drinks to chat and chill with friends. the hot coffee decaf is great no issues. dark chocolate drink also no issues other than too much ice but the match soy latte was filled with unmelted powder balls. can see from my photo the clumps of it stuck at the lid area. not sure if its a newbie making the drinks but have no met such issue before so it might be a one off thing. overall still prefer to get drinks at harbourfront centre side as the drinks are less diluted. this outlet always overloads the cup with too much ice.
