Dinner at Tambuah Mas felt both nostalgic and comforting. I came especially for the tahu telor — something I hadn’t had in a long while. It was pretty satisfying, though I do feel it tasted even better decades ago. Having visited since their Tanglin Shopping Centre days, it’s heartening to see how they’ve grown and recently earned a Michelin star. We also had the beef and lontong besides the tahu telor. I liked that we could choose the spiciness level of the beef, which suited me since I don’t take very spicy food. The lontong, served with tender chicken and rich gravy, was especially yummy and comforting. Food overall was good, though the yellow rice was a little bland. I appreciated that the chendol wasn’t overly sweet. Definitely a refreshing way to end a satisfying meal. Service was efficient, and we were glad to get a table easily on a weekday without reserving. Prices felt reasonable too. We were very full, and with a forgotten membership discount of about $6++, the total came to around $61 including a fresh coconut. A place we’ll happily return to again 😋
Tambuah Mas at Great World City offers a satisfying dining experience when it comes to the food. The dishes are flavourful, well-prepared, and reflect the authentic tastes the restaurant is known for — definitely the highlight of the visit. However, the service did not quite match the quality of the cuisine. Attention to guests and basic courtesy could be improved, as interactions felt limited and somewhat inattentive throughout the meal. With stronger service standards to complement its great food, Tampuah Mas has the potential to deliver a much more well-rounded and enjoyable dining experience.
Another great family gathering at Tambuah Mas at Great World City. Their beef rendang is flavourful, tender and not very spicy, and tahu telor is really good. 😋 Do make reservation as it is not easy to get a seat for walk-in. Sign up for their free membership and you can enjoy 10% discount on your next visit. Do follow my instagram "joannefoodstory" for more sharing on food.
