Stepping into Syed Cafe Exclusive @ SAFRA Toa Payoh during the bustling Chinese New Year dinner weekend felt like walking into a celebration powered not just by festive spirit, but by an incredible team dedicated to service excellence. Despite the festive rush and fully packed tables, the team delivered outstanding customer service from start to finish. Every staff member served with a genuine smile, remarkable professionalism, and incredible efficiency. What stood out most was how they never made us feel rushed — even during such a busy period. They took the time to attend to each table and each individual guest, patiently answering questions, checking in on our meals, and ensuring everything was just right. It’s rare to see such consistent warmth and attentiveness during peak festive dining, and they handled it flawlessly. The food was equally impressive. Every dish arrived fresh, well-presented, and packed with flavour. From their fragrant biryani to perfectly cooked prata and flavourful curries, each bite was satisfying and comforting. The drinks were also well-prepared and complemented the meal perfectly. Must visit!
Visited Syed Cafe Exclusive at Toa Payoh SAFRA for a Father's Day celebration with our extended family of 16 pax. Despite our large group, the dining experience was smooth from start to finish. The food arrived promptly, and the comfortable ambience made it a pleasant place for family gatherings. Several dishes stood out during our visit. The satay was well-grilled and flavourful, while the nasi lemak was beautifully presented and carried a fragrant hint of halba (fenugreek) that gave it a distinctive touch. The Mee Goreng Pattaya was also enjoyable—the omelette wrapped around the noodles was soft and complemented the moist, slightly saucy mee goreng beneath, giving it a comforting "mee goreng basah" style texture. The Mee Bandung was interesting as it differed from the traditional Malay-style Mee Bandung that I am familiar with. Instead of the sweeter, prawn-based gravy commonly associated with Mee Bandung Muar, this version leaned more towards an Indian-Muslim interpretation, with a richer spice profile and generous peanut topping. It offered a unique twist and may appeal to those who enjoy bolder flavours. The seafood Maggi Goreng had a nice texture and was well-cooked, although I personally felt it could benefit from a little more broth or gravy to enhance the overall flavour. The rest of the dishes were satisfactory and enjoyed by the family. What truly made our visit memorable was the service. We had brought our own cake to celebrate Father's Day, and to our surprise, one of the staff presented us with an additional complimentary cake. It was a thoughtful gesture that none of us expected and added a special touch to the celebration. With so many dining options available today, it is these small acts of hospitality that leave a lasting impression. Overall, good food, efficient service, and a warm gesture from the team made this a Father's Day celebration to remember. Hosting a group of 16 can sometimes be challenging, but the team handled it well and contributed to a pleasant family gathering.=)
I had a great experience at this Indian restaurant. The butter chicken is slightly sweet, but the meat is incredibly tender and cooked perfectly. It’s rich and comforting overall. The plain naan comes in a very generous portion, which is great for sharing. However, it’s a bit lacking in flavour on its own. The Inchi Kabin fried chicken wings are outstanding, super crispy on the outside and packed with flavour. Definitely one of the highlights of the meal. The crispy fried tofu is absolutely delicious. The outside is perfectly crispy, while the inside stays moist and soft. The sauce really elevates the dish, refreshing with fresh onion and chili bits, nicely spicy, and full of flavour. Overall, a satisfying meal with some standout crispy dishes!
