❤️ Food sharing IG @ jkgourmets 😋 美食分享尽在 IG @ jkgourmets I'm not staying around Bedok, but today happened to passby and decided to have famous Ah Lim Mee Pok for breakfast. Before I leave, noticed this Syed Cafe which located at the inner lane beside Qiant Supermarket, was seem very crowded and busy. Yes. This Indian Muslim Café was one of the popular and rare Muslim eatery in this area. Decided to take away one of my favorite dish - Mee Goreng, selection between seafood, beef or chicken. My seafood Mee Goreng was surprisingly good, b'cos it was very different from usual Indian Muslim red flavour. Their version was with black soya sauce, giving additional savory taste beside spiciness and the noodle colour will looks darker with touched of chilli redness. The Mee Goreng was delicious and full of flavours, the seafood was fresh, with 3 medium large prawns and 3-4 cut octopus. $8.90 for the noodle, and $2.70 for ice pulled tea (excluding 9% GST). Although food price was slightly higher as compared to similar Indian Muslim eatery. Overall taste was good and satisfying, unfortunately still not a regular meal place. With such wide variety of foods selection, I do recommend Syed Café to all especially new visitor and those Indian/Malay food lovers. Try it.
It was not as crowded as the neighboring stalls at 9pm. Ordered signature Syed Mee Goreng at $7.50. It was quite nice with special sauce, rojak ingredients etc. The banana milkshake is normal at $6.50 but not sure why only strawberry is lower at $5.90. Protip: Can use Shopback to earn 5% cashback for next transaction. I always break the back to take it immediately. ✌
Thosai with chicken recommended by order taker, Somu was bagus (means fantastic). Prata, teh Halia, kopi tarik were equally great. The prata taste and texture is different from the normal prata and we like it!! While the wait to place food order and food being served took 15 to 20 min, we were comfortably seated in the aircon place. There is also alfresco seating.
