I had a wonderful experience at Syed Cafe during my 30-day stay in Singapore for a project with my colleague. The people there are extremely kind and welcoming, which made us feel very comfortable away from home. The hospitality was excellent throughout our visit. The cafe offers a wide variety of food options, catering to different tastes, and the food is consistently very tasty. It’s especially great for Indian food lovers, but there are choices for everyone, making it suitable for all kinds of visitors. We truly enjoyed every meal and appreciated the warm service provided by the staff. I would definitely recommend Syed Cafe to anyone visiting Singapore, especially Indians looking for familiar, delicious food with great hospitality. It’s a place worth visiting again.
After my NUH appointment, was craving for Paper Thosai and decided to come here. Entered around 520pm and place was empty which is great. Able to take my time and enjoy my food. Their menu is extensive and spoilt for choices. I ordered: 1. Mozerella Cheese Sticks (6 pcs) - the outer layer batter was light and had crisp to it - would have been better if it's hotter as inside the cheese was little cold 2. Paper Thosai - was huge, light but filling - little oily though 3. Hot tea (kurang manis) - maybe the tea leaves were placed too long as there's a after bitter taste. - tea wasnt as smooth as I hope it to be For a quick decent meal, yes can pop by if you're at NUH. Coming here off peak hours is good. Total damage: $13.20
Decent Indian food at reasonable prices. Some good dishes, such as the mee goreng. For the biriyani, the mutton and lamb shank were good, but the chicken was dry. I don’t recommend the mutton soup. Not tasty and meat was dry and tough. I wanted to try their prata but was told it’s available for breakfast and late afternoon only.
