When it comes to green pandan waffles, this outlet has one of the best in town. Only thing is have to tell the young lady to make it more crispy for me. If you want more stuffing, just tell the lady add on n pay for it. It is worth your money. Take our n reheat in oven toaster for your tea time treat. Shiok man with strong cuppa coffee or teh tarik .
So i recently discovered that swee heng has really gd heartlander waffles. U know they take pride in it when they hand it over to u horizontally, so that the sauce doesn’t drip out into the bag and make a mess when u eat. The proper way to eat it is also to hold the waffle horizontally when biting. U wanna make sure to savor all the zhup inside. So i’ve tried 2 of the other outlets. All the waffles are crispy and fillings are also generous. Qc sb gao lat. No need to go waffles hunting alr. Just head down to any swee heng branch which is available in most heartland areas.
I am rating this branch solely off its pandan waffles. I have had the waffles here a few times since i live pretty near. The waffles are kueh like consistency, not very crispy - which is fine even though i prefer crispy waffles. The pandan taste is quite prominent. However, the taste falls short for me. After the initial notes of pandan, there isn’t really much. The kaya spread is always generous. I believe the the standard swee heng coconut kaya jam is used. Not overly sweet, and it reminded me of the kaya buns i had growing up. All in all an average neighbourhood kaya waffle at relatively cheap price point (2.20).
