After reading so much about it, we visited the stall to satisfy our Nasi Lemak craving. Unfortunately it fell short of expectations. Maybe we had it too high. Rice wasn’t Lemak enough (not enough coconut flavour) although the grains were nice and fluffy, not clumped. The fish was tiny. Otak-otak wasn’t great as it was tasteless. The Sambal was alright. Not mind blowing but good enough. Chicken wings was crunchy. Too bad the meat was somewhat tasteless. Service was pretty good. Polite friendly staff and quick to serve. Price was higher than I would’ve liked. I guess that’s the cost of things these days.
Surprising find for me. Ordered the chix wing set ($3.80) and added another wing ($1.70). The set comes with sliced omelette and plenty of ikan bilis. They use the long grain basmati rice for the nasi lemak. Rice is fairly fragrant, not the best but gd enough for me. The chili is v well balanced. It’s the typical sweet type but not too sweet nor too spicy. The chix is the highlight here. It’s super fresh and crispy and meat is juicy. Glad I added one more wing. Price is also fairly reasonable for today’s economy. They open as early as 6+ am in the morning. Highly recc for your bfast fix!
Here is my personal honest opinion. I did not know this store open for 2or 3months ago. This is one of the cheapest nasi lemak I have taken in my life. I order fish fillet nasi lemak set for 3.20. The rice have less fragrance than the other nasi lemak rice. The chilli / sambal - is spicy and nice. The fish fillet is normal .. The ikan bills is just right. Not over burnt. The crispy is just nice. The mixed egg is flavourful and tasty..
