Ordered the prawn paste chicken, tomyam soup, spinach, salted egg prawns, hot plate tofu. Went on a Sat night and the service was quite fast. Chicken, prawns are tasty. Quite pricey for tz char, can try if you are in the area.
Visited the newly opened Sinar Malay Seafood and had a very pleasant dining experience. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the tables were very clean, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We ordered the cereal prawns, kangkong, and Thai-style seabass, and all the dishes were excellent. The Thai-style seabass stood out — it was very rich in flavour with a well-balanced Thai taste that was sour and savoury. The cereal prawns were fragrant and perfectly crispy, which I really enjoyed. The kangkong was also very fragrant and savoury, with a strong sambal flavour that paired well with the dish. The overall presentation of the food was very nice, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout our meal. Combined with the cosy atmosphere, it made for a great dining experience.
Visited Sinar Food at Sengkang East Drive for the second time, but this visit was quite disappointing compared to when they first opened. We ordered the salted egg crab, which was priced at around $48, but the portion was very small and the crab itself was noticeably small as well. Unfortunately, the salted egg crab was bland and lacked the richness typically expected, especially considering it was priced at around $48. If you’re looking to eat crab, I would recommend going elsewhere for better value and quality. When asked about the quality of the crab, one of the lady worker said it's probably like that which was pretty disappointing to hear. The hotplate tofu tasted mostly like plain tofu, with very little seasoning or depth of flavour. Overall, the food quality seems to have declined since their opening. We were quite taken aback by this experience and left feeling disappointed. Would not recommend the salted egg crab for the quality and price.
