Worst quantity of food packed by that owner old lady. When ever she is there it happens. Bought take away meals, tofu sambal given 3 PCS and the rice like for preschoolers quantity..but charges has gone up..not the taste And quantity . Look the rice pack slim..pls someone look into this
Charged $12.50!! Didn’t tell me only have one vegetable. When adding the second, didn’t inform me. Taste wise: below average. She purposely did not give me the papadam; thinking that I was not aware. Did not enjoy my food because of the bad service and bad vibe here. Regret coming here.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🥇 Best Biryani in Singapore. No debate. Since 1993, Shami Banana Leaf has been feeding Woodlands with authentic, flavour-packed Indian food. They aren’t just another stall—they proudly own their space inside Food Republic, a class act in itself in Singapore’s tough F&B landscape. And yes, Shami is proudly Singaporean, a local business that’s built its name dish by dish, plate by plate, customer by customer. They are the best at what they do. ⸻ 🔥 What Makes Shami Special: 🍛 Outstanding Food – Fluffy, fragrant biryani with tender chicken or mutton that’s perfectly spiced, never oily, never bland. 🍃 Generous Banana Leaf Rice – Fresh vegetables, crispy papadum, real house-made gravies. 🔥 Live Roti & Naan Making – Watch your naan slapped onto a real clay charcoal tandoor, getting that authentic smoky char. 🍗 Proper Tandoori Chicken – Charcoal-kissed, juicy, marinated deeply, not dry or rushed. ⸻ 📜 Menu Highlights: ✅ Biryani Sets: Chicken 🍗, Mutton 🐐, Fish 🐟, Veg 🥕 ✅ Banana Leaf Rice Sets: Chicken, Mutton, Fish ✅ Curries & Specials: Fish Head Curry 🐠, Chicken 65, Mutton Rogan Josh, Vindaloo 🌶️ ✅ Live Tandoor Naan/Roti: Garlic, Butter, Cheese, Plain 🫓 ✅ Vegetarian Options: Paneer 65 🧀, Gobi Manchurian 🥦 ✅ Drinks: Masala Tea 🍵, Lassi 🥤, Milo 🍫, Bandung 🌺 ⸻ 📍 Address: Shami Banana Leaf (Woodlands, Causeway Point) 1 Woodlands Square, #04‑01/04 Food Republic, Singapore 738099 ⸻ 💥 To the haters: Let’s be honest: most 1-star reviews come from people expecting hotel-level service for food court prices, or those walking in rude, then crying when they don’t get pampered. Some are petty, jealous who can’t stand Shami’s success. Here’s the truth: Shami isn’t here to babysit entitled customers; they’re here to serve real, comforting, flavourful food, daily, without shortcuts. If you walk in with an attitude, don’t expect fake smiles. They’ve survived and thrived for over 30 years in Singapore’s brutal F&B scene while others folded and left. If Shami was “bad,” as some crybabies claim, they wouldn’t still be here with lines of happy, repeat customers. ⸻ ✨ Personally, I keep going back, and it never disappoints. If you want real, comforting Indian food, with live tandoori naan, the best biryani in Singapore, and food made with pride by a proudly Singaporean business, Shami Banana Leaf is the place. Let the haters keep hating while we keep enjoying real food.
