This is definitely a 5-Stars Nasi Lemak! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Easily top of my list for my favourite Nasi Lemak in Singapore. What's important in a Nasi Lemak is the chilli. Their chilli is very nice and well balanced with the right amount of sweetness. I agree with some of the reviewers mentioning the battered fried chicken is slightly tough on the outer layer. But I can understand why is the stall owner doing so, I've seen a lot of customers ordering takeaways. This type of batter will remained crispy for a long time, so even if you eat 2 hours later, it is still crispy. And it is very well-seasoned too. If I really want to pick some flaws, it will be the chicken is slightly overcooked to me, I will prefer the chicken to be more juicy. But I do understand that for it to be halal, our Muslim friends have to cook it sufficiently. The coconut rice is fragrant and fluffy. A real good coconut rice shouldn't be too moist, you must be able to see distinct grains of the rice, not mushy soggy rice. For those who prefer their rice being less oily will love this stall's Nasi Lemak. But personnally I prefer it slightly oilier for added fragrant. I think you can't have an exceptionally fragrant coconut rice with too little oil. Next, is the otah, can taste a well mixed of spices, very fragrant! The begedil is well made, can taste the use of 'dhal' in it. Ikan bilis-peanuts is very fresh and crispy. Even the fried sunny-side-up is well done, not overcooked. Overall, I truly think this Nasi Lemak deserves a 5-stars rating and when you eat their Nasi Lemak, you can feel the efforts and hardwork behind the stall owner's preparation. With that kind of effort and hardwork, I think this meal is very very affordable. Easily one of the best in Singapore! Well done! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We had the royal flush set. The rice was cooked beautifully and the chilli was a nice compliment. The begedel and fried chicken was tasty, overall a very good plate of nasi lemak! The service is warm and friendly, we will definitely return.

Nasi Lemak (SGD $7) @ Selera Rasa Nasi Lemak. . Established in 1998 by couple Hassan Abdul Kadir and Aminah Binte K. Omar, this legacy brand is amongst the most well-regarded in Singapore, counting Southeast Asian royalty, dignitaries, and heads of government amongst their customers. Today, it remains family-run by their descendants, including founder of Crave Nasi Lemak and their eldest son, Doctor Abdul Malik Hassan. . Their rendition features a bed of long-grain basmati rice infused with coconut milk, lemongrass, and pandan / screwpine leaves, resulting in a fluffy loose soft moist texture with beautiful grainy earthy floral sweet herbal milky flavour. The deep-fried ikan bilis / anchovies with roasted peanuts are crispy crunchy firm in texture, shattering with fishy salty savoury earthy nutty flavour. The thin cucumber slices are crisp and juicy in texture with vegetal sweet flavour, while the fried chicken egg is soft and wobbly in texture with eggy savoury sweet flavour. . The otak-otak / otah / spiced mackerel fish paste is pliant and soft in texture, carrying fishy savoury spice flavour. The turmeric marinated and battered chicken wing has a lovely crunch to the exterior, a warm tender juicy chew to the interior, and lovely meaty savoury salty spice flavour. Their grainy sambal tumis / stir-fried chili paste has a bigger sweet salty spice flavour kick compared to elsewhere. Additional crispy bits of batter lend an addictive crunch.
