The lontong was generally enjoyable and the kuah was flavourful, with the rest of the ingredients tasting good and complementing each other well. Unfortunately, the tahu was a major letdown. It was extremely liat and felt like it had been sitting in the kuah for far too long. Instead of being soft and absorbent, the texture was very dry and almost resembled hardened taupok. It was also surprisingly difficult to cut through, even with a spoon. What was more concerning was that it had a slightly masam taste, as though it was starting to turn or had been left for too long. Because of this, I couldn’t really enjoy that component of the dish. Thankfully, the rest of the lontong was nice, which is why I’m still giving it 3 stars. I hope more attention can be paid to the freshness and texture of the tahu, as it would make a significant difference to the overall experience.
Idk what kind of scam this shop is running. Food is grossly overpriced and the absolute travesty to charge me $1 for extra sambal belachan when I already purchased 2 separate meat dishes. Bloody ridiculous.
First time trying out SeLemak Pagi and ordered my favourite beef rendang to see if their food is to my liking. Interestingly, their menu offers various sets to cater to everyone's preferences, ingredient portions are clearly pictured with transparent upfront pricing. No more worrying if your meal will cost more than expected. Beef Rendang Set came with creamy curry-covered rice, fluffy omelette, and a hearty portion of unctuous beef rendang that had clearly been slow-cooked to tender perfection. I will most definitely be coming back here for my meals.
