Kel HoDisappointed with the Crispy Egg Noodles I ordered the Chicken Crispy Egg Noodles (S$6.50) based on the menu photo, which showed a generous portion of crispy egg noodles served separately with thick gravy, fresh vegetables, and well-presented toppings. The expectation was that the noodles would remain crispy until mixed with the sauce. However, what arrived at my table looked very different from the advertised image. Differences I noticed: • The menu photo showed a golden nest of crispy noodles, but the actual dish was completely soaked in gravy, losing the crispy texture that the dish is known for. • The presentation was significantly different. The menu displayed a neat and appetising arrangement, whereas the served dish looked more like a regular noodle soup. • The amount of chicken in the actual dish appeared small, unevenly cut, and less appealing compared to the impression given by the menu image. • The gravy-to-noodle ratio was excessive, overwhelming the dish and making it difficult to enjoy the texture of the crispy noodles. • While there were vegetables included, the overall appearance and composition did not resemble the menu photo, creating a sense of disappointment. I understand that menu photos are often for illustration purposes, but the actual product should still reasonably reflect what customers are ordering. In this case, the difference between the advertised dish and what was served was substantial. I hope the restaurant can either improve consistency in food preparation or use more accurate menu photos to better manage customers' expectations.
Dreamy CI see the review, i tot Segar is ok nia but turned out gd. We order mee goreng. Spicy. Gd but if it is slightly wetter, it will be better. The aloe vera with longan is ok only. Sweet and sour chicken is good. Oat prawn is gd to me but my omos 7 yo dun really like it. It has some chilli in it so please take note. We also ordered the broccoli. Was gd. Broccoli was not overcooked. Iced Crysanthenum tea was gd. Orange juice was also gd.
JoRecently dined at Segar and tried several dishes including the Hong Kong noodles, hor fun, cockles fried kway teow, three eggs royal spinach, fu rong egg, lemon chicken, and Thai-style chicken. The food doesn’t taste as good as before. Flavours were lacking, and the overall experience felt disappointing. Staff didn’t come across as very friendly either. The place was surprisingly quiet for a weekend, which felt a bit unusual.
