We came on a weekday for late lunch. The place was bustling and operating at close to full capacity. We ordered the cauliflower with potato and their small fish head curry with 2 briyani rice to share(3person). Their fish head curry has a hint of sourness from the tomato added. They even had chunks of lemon in it in case u like it really sour. Service is prompt and staffs are all attentive. Tastewise, their food is above average. Will visit them again. Recommended

I am a regular customer of Sakunthala Restaurant and have been coming here for the past two years. Most of the time, I order the vegetarian meal set. Even though I usually take only half a portion of rice, I am still charged the full set meal price, which I have accepted without any issue. However, today I was charged an additional $3.00 dollar for dhal by the cashier, Thiru. What concerns me is that he did not inform me beforehand that there would be an extra charge. Until I ask then only he informed me. Previously, I have ordered the same meal with dhal and was never charged extra. Since the rice and dhal are part of the set meal that I consume in the restaurant, I was surprised by this additional charge. I would appreciate clarification on why I was charged differently today and why I was not informed about the extra cost in advance.

Bad Customer Service by Manager Order Reference No: 48246 and YSN362524 ( Date 18th Oct ) Had been to Shakuntala Yishun Branch. One of the Item ordered was Lime Soda (SWEET). Order was taken by staff (Manager) himself. The Staff (Manager) served Ice lemon tea instead. Asked him to bring as per order, which is Lime Soda (SWEET). No Apology/sorry from him. Again 2nd time, he bought Lime Soda ( SALT) .Again we had to tell him to bring as per order, which is Lime Soda (Sweet) No Apology/sorry from him again. The 3rd time he bought Lime Soda, but was plain. No sweet taste. Seems they were showing their frustration as we had rejected the drink 2 times. This time we just drank it. When paying bill, told the lady in counter about this and asked to call him ( Manager). We asked him ( Manager) , why the service was so poor. His face was sulky and behavior was rude. He didn't say a word. Neither sorry nor Apologetic. Was shocked to see such behavior from Manager. He is the person to manage and guide other staffs. Not sure, how Shakuntala is selecting such kind of candidates. We go to enjoy food and relax, but instead staff spoilt our mood and our dinner . Especially being Manger himself. He seems to have some attitude problem. Also in the bill, there was additional Paratha added, which we never ordered. We asked lady in the counter. Then it was removed from the bill ( attaching both bills). such a horrible customer service experience in Shakuntala Yishun branch. The Lady in the Counter during that date/time was okay and she said sorry and apologized for the mistake. Also my wife had sent feedback via Shakuntala site on 18th Oct , yet to receive even a reply from them. This prompted me to share our experience with Customers in Google review. Also we are a regular customer of Shakuntala both dine-in and home delivery.
