On a rare visit to Tiong Bahru Plaza, we decide to have our meal at Sakon Thai Village after a quick scan of dining options level by level. It sure doesn't disappoint but a delightful find👍👏💪 The servers provide friendly, attentive and prompt service. Table and tableware are clean, making the environment reassuring. Delightful drinks arrive and enjoyable mains soon after. What a hearty meal👍👏😋 Everything is cooked perfectly with fresh ingredients and tastes so good! Each dish arrives well-prepared, packed with a great balance of authentic flavors and is a pleasure to share. ▪︎Chicken, with spot-on Thai aromatics, is savoury and succulent ▪︎Prawn Omelette is generously filled and satisfying ▪︎Vegetables are fresh and crunchy ▪︎Thai Iced Milk Green Tea carries vibrant floral and creamy notes ▪︎Iced Kit-Kat Choco Drink (takeout) is rich, chocolatety and crunchy Having dined at STV, it's easy to see why this moderate-sized restaurant is popular. Thai favourite food! I miss their western food! Will try the new menu ! A must try dessert mango sticky rice, very flavourful sticky rice! And the Thai basil’s slice beef so tender !!! Honey chicken is so good! The chef cook it to the perfection! Swee… A CNY set menu for 4-6 pax ! Worth the price!
the food itself was not bad, but i think i was just unfortunate enough to not have a good experience dining in at the place. i had to order via their mobile ordering system, and the lunch set menu was available despite being a public holiday, so I made my selection under the lunch set menu that would include rice, main, and a drink. They served my drink and shortly after came over again to say that the lunch set menu was not available because it was a PH, and said i could not return the drink since it was served and they would add it to my bill. ??? i did not mind the drink then because i was feeling thirsty, so i said okay, but i would have appreciated at least being asked whether i would still want the drink instead of being quick to charge me for it - and for something i did not do and was not made aware of? i mean it is not my fault that your system said the lunch set menu was available and that you could order it still despite it being a ph. the thai basil minced chicken i ordered also did not come with rice, which i had to order separately, and the plate of minced chicken had tiny bones (?) and a strand of hair was found after i was done with it (both as pictured). the minced chicken omelette also had tiny egg shell in it (which i decided to swallow anyway lol), and was a little charred and too oily for my liking lastly, the chef i could see that was handling the food was not wearing a mask and was sneezing?? i paid about $30 for what i thought would be a quick late lunch meal, but left thinking i do not think i would patronise the place again. 4th Apr edit: i had diarrhoea and had to go to the toilet 4 times. definitely not heading back to this place 🙃
