Visit date: 22 Jan 2026 Actual rating: 3.5 Travelled a fair bit to have a go at pork chops... but, the Western stall here wasn't open (at 3pm+)! So I thought mutton curry with boned-in meat would sate my craving 🤔😆 Thus I ordered prata, after I'd ascertained I could get curried mutton. However, it wasn't the best of culinary experience, both bread and meat 😞 Plain prata was the "rigid" kind, quite crispy like Springleaf's. My preference is for kosong that is fluffed and not doughy; crispiness is not a key criteria. Egg prata was also typical, but a much better eat imho. Unfortunately, mutton meat was not tender even though the curry was fantastically flavoursome and thick! 😲 You'd have to be deft with fork and spoon (acting as the knife!) in cutting through the mutton! For a moment I was thinking about going to the Western stall to get a steak knife to saw the meat 🤣 I really did struggle to have my mutton! Nevertheless, I do sincerely hope to see an improvement in the texture of their mutton, as the curry is really remarkable fitting of a 5 star rating 👌

Used to enjoy coming to Saamsudeen for their prata, but my recent visit was quite disappointing. The quality seems to have dropped compared to before. The prata wasn’t as crispy or fluffy it felt a bit oily and lacked the usual texture I used to like. Hope they can improve and bring back the quality they were known for.

On my way to Kampung Admiralty, this place stood out in many reviews. I had the egg prata (1.80) with fish curry. After Alif near my place deteriorated in standards, any freshly made prata gets a thumbs up from me. The egg prata has good texture and even distribution of filling. The fish curry is on the subtle side, as fragrant but not as spicy as we would like. Pros is you can dunk it and take up as much as you like. The HC is spacious and well ventilation as others have suggested.
