I had a lunch today at Red Ginger in IMM outlet mall. They served nice Malaysian or Singaporean style Nasi Padang. It is not really authentic Nasi Padang, but it is still great and can be an alternative when we want to eat Nasi Padang. They also provided some kueh as a desserts and some beverages such as tea and coffees.

Red Ginger, IMM – Mee Siam with Otah & Lontong Red Ginger continues to do what it does best—serve food that feels comforting, familiar, and quietly satisfying. Mee Siam with Otah This Mee Siam leans beautifully into comfort rather than sharp intensity. The gravy is mildly tangy with a gentle coconut richness, smooth and soothing instead of aggressively sour or spicy. It’s the kind of flavour that warms you up slowly, spoon by spoon. The bee hoon is soft and well-coated in the gravy, while the tau pok absorbs all that flavour effortlessly. The otah is the real highlight—fragrant, slightly smoky, and rich, adding depth and personality to the dish. Paired with the egg, sambal, and a squeeze of lime, everything comes together in a way that feels nostalgic and satisfying. It’s not flashy, just very heartfelt. Lontong The lontong is pure comfort on a plate. The turmeric-yellow gravy is mellow, creamy, and gently spiced, wrapping the vegetables and lontong in warmth. The cabbage is soft and sweet, the gravy well-balanced, and the sambal on the side lets you adjust the heat to your liking. Every bite feels homely, like something you’d eat on a quiet day when you just want food that understands you. Overall Both dishes feel thoughtfully prepared and true to Red Ginger’s comforting identity. Nothing overdone, nothing rushed—just honest flavours that soothe and satisfy. If you’re at IMM and craving something warm, familiar, and grounding, the Mee Siam with Otah and Lontong are choices you won’t regret.

As a paying customer, we do not deserve this kind of customer service. Often lunch here as I worked nearby. Seems like queuing at an army cookhouse or prison food line as, usually one of the staff , an Indian Muslim lady will always shout ‘next order!’ If you delay once bit, she will open her eyes and continue to shout even louder, next order!.. the other Malay lady will also always show face as if we are begging for food there.. Happened today, she did not asked if I wanted white rice or briyani rice, so she scooped white rice which I politely asked for briyani rice, she turn around and gave a sinister look..almost wanted to leave but kept calm. Aunties if you are not happy, I would gladly scoop it myself.. Pls educate your staff on customer service.. a simple pls and thank you is lacking here. I would commend on the uncle that clears the plate, that is good customer service, take pride, service with a smile and thank you when we assist to return the plate during rush hour.. this is a feedback for the management..
