Visited Putra Minang at Bencoolen recently and came away quite impressed by the quality of the food. If you're a fan of Nasi Padang, this is definitely one of the better options I've tried in the area. The food quality was excellent overall. The various dishes on display looked inviting, and thankfully they delivered on flavour as well. Everything I selected felt like it was served at its best, with good texture, rich flavours, and that comforting home-style quality that makes Nasi Padang so enjoyable. Whether it was the proteins, vegetables, or accompanying gravies, there was a consistency across the board that made for a very satisfying meal. My only hesitation is the pricing. While the quality is undeniably good, the final bill can add up fairly quickly depending on what you choose, making it a little pricier than some comparable Nasi Padang spots. The environment was comfortable and pleasant. I visited during the later part of the lunch service, so the restaurant was relatively quiet and almost empty. It made for a relaxed dining experience where I could enjoy the meal without the usual lunch crowd. Seating was comfortable and the dining area felt clean and well-maintained. Service is straightforward and functional. Orders are selected, paid for, and collected at the counter, so there isn't much traditional table service involved. That said, the process was efficient and hassle-free. Overall, a very good Nasi Padang experience with strong food quality and a comfortable dining environment. While the pricing may be on the higher side, the quality of the dishes largely justifies the premium.

Ordered delivery at lunchtime (12+ pm). 15 bucks for this LOL! Dry and hard chicken (cold) and beef (barely warm), poor portion size and egg was stone cold. what I paid for EXCLUDES rice. First and last time getting food from here. Recommending Paris Van Java instead - much tastier fried meat dishes and rice! (They actually care more about packaging too - this place simply dumps whatever into plastic bags to minimize costs). Update - they clearly haven’t learned from previous reviews about the freshness/temperature of the food. Had to throw away most of it since it was so poor in quality.

Authentic Padang food (not Malay style) Their beef rendang is the best in SG hands-down, it's spicy, fragrant, and umami. Always ask for extra rendang gravy on your rice. They used to have several branches but now the Bencoolen branch is the only one remaining. Will try to visit often to support the biz, authentic Padang cuisine is hard to come by in SG.
