Food generally okay. Affordable. I had the jumbo beef rice with a drink and dessert. Came pretty quickly. The table was unstable and shaky. The exhaust for all the smoky Food could have been better. Otherwise acceptable.
Love the dining in at pepper lunch. Food is good. Staff are all very welcoming. They use proper cutleries, no disposables. Except the cup for drinks. If they can consider washing, then can use those big strong cups. It will help the environment.
Went to Pepper Lunch for affordable steak ended up becoming Gordon Ramsay. Plate came out screaming. Not sizzling — screaming. The staff put it down and just walked off like, “your turn, chef.” No instructions, no guidance. Just vibes and heat. Ordered the steak version and wah… immediate pressure. You’re there flipping the meat like your appraisal depends on it. One wrong move and your steak goes from “restaurant quality” to “chewing exercise.” But credit where it’s due, the cow didn’t die for nothing. If you don’t mess it up, the steak actually comes out pretty solid. Still juicy, nice sear, and once the butter melts into the rice with that pepper sauce… okay lah, worth it. That cow contributed to a meaningful cause.. my lunch. Halfway through I was sweating, slightly stressed, but also quite proud of myself. Like I survived something. Service is fast. They give you the food and trust you to not sabotage it. No micromanagement, just full confidence in your cooking skills (whether you have it or not). Not fine dining, but honestly quite fun and chaotic. Will come back again for my next shift as part-time chef
