I’m extremely frustrated with my experience at Pepper Lunch Bedok Mall. I’m fully aware that this outlet uses QR ordering.. that’s exactly why I sat down and tried to scan immediately. But the problem is the QR system DOES NOT WORK properly. I couldn’t scan or access the menu at all. What’s the point of implementing QR ordering if customers can’t even use it? To make things worse, when I approached the counter earlier, I was directed back to my table to use the QR system. However, when I informed the staff that the QR code wasn’t working, there was no apology, no assistance, and the response came across as defensive rather than helpful. That kind of attitude is unacceptable, especially when the issue is clearly on the restaurant’s side. This isn’t a one-time issue either. I’ve visited multiple times and faced the same problem across different tables. The system is clearly unreliable and has not been fixed despite being an ongoing issue. On top of that, the air-conditioning is terrible as always. The place feels warm and uncomfortable, which just makes the whole dining experience worse especially when customers are already frustrated trying to place their orders. If QR ordering is your main system, then at the very least: - Ensure the QR codes actually work consistently - Maintain a functional and responsive ordering system - Train staff to respond professionally, with accountability and basic courtesy - Fix the air-conditioning so customers can dine comfortably Right now, the experience is inconvenient, uncomfortable, and poorly managed. This needs serious improvement.
Pepper lunch has been around for a long time and I finally tried it. I bought a discount voucher. It’s quite fun to cook the doneness. The hotpot also charred the rice which was very nice! I loved it, this burnt crispy texture. But after sitting in the restaurant for 30 minutes I smelled like pepper lunch. Dinner time was packed. I managed to get a seat quickly. But it got busy really quickly. Expect a wait for dinner.
Food was served fast. All the meats were good quality and fresh. First time in a stand alone outlet, loved the Häagen-Dazs dessert option
