I love the mutton briyani, the meat is tender and doesn't have any smell. The rice is fluffy and it is delicious. I like the nasi lemak beef rendang though I prefer a stronger rendang spices. The meat is tender and the chilli is tasty though I prefer if it's more spicy. The penang char kway teow is nice though is not really memorable. The lemon barley is good, has a balanced tastes though the barley a bit too much. The price is a bit more expensive than you expect for the Malaysia's foods but it has a fast service.
It was my 1st time eating at paparich restaurant. I did not check on Google what they served or what's their best dish. I've ordered pepper sauce Chicken chop, beef hor fun and bamboo rice. I'm disappointed with the food quality. The chicken chop is hard and tasteless. You have to dip into the pepper sauce. Be prepared that the chicken will cause abrasion to your gums. Next is beef hor fun. The beef is leathery and you can't bite into small pieces. Chew many times and it's still 1 pc. We requested to change. The waiter came back saying the chef said all the beef are the same and this is the standard of their beef. Waiter asked if we could change to Wanton or prawn. That's what we heard. I do not know if the 3 types of horfun cost the same price. We asked Wanton as my family member has allergy reactions after taking prawns. The waiter came back with a paper to proof he has ordered "wat tan". And to our great surprise, there were no wanton but some small chicken slices in the hor fun and 4 small pathetic tasteless prawns which my family passed to me. Lastly, the bamboo rice menu is good. Do try it.
I visited PappaRich to try their Bamboo Briyani. While the food itself was decent, ( 1st time eating Briyani mutton that have more bones than meat) , I was really put off by the way it was served. To pour the rice, the staff placed the bottom end of the bamboo cylinder directly onto my eating plate before sliding the food out. Because the outside/bottom of the bamboo rests on various kitchen and counter surfaces, having it touch the exact spot where my food was about to be poured felt quite unhygienic and handling it this way was off-putting.
