Occasionally, there a sizeable queue and this outlet but the aunties here are quite friendly. I don’t buy from Old Chang Kee much anymore. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve lost my tolerance for regular consumption of greasy, deep-fried food. old favourites i used to eat have been removed over the years, like the Breaded Prawns, sotong balls and the surimi Crab Claws. These days, the only seasonal item I’ll bother with is the Chilli Crab Puff. The Tiger Prawn Rolls are quite nice, but at roughly $2.40 for just 2 pieces, they feel like something you could easily buy frozen from the supermarket. Honestly, when a single fried snack on a stick costs $2.00 to $3.00, it starts to feel a little pricey. I still have their Prawn Nuggets once in a while, but that’s about it.
Bought their chicken popcorn with BC cheese for below $3 only which was honestly super worth it 😭 The chicken was crispy, flavourful and perfect for quick snacks while shopping. And its Halal stall.
Taro Mochi'O has a nice savoury twist, not too sweet, and the soft chewy texture makes it so addictive! Catch more reviews on IG/TikTok @NOMREX
