Gem caiLocated just outside the supermarket at the basement. Serving staff was efficient and courteous. Not much selection displayed when I went on a Sunday evening at 6pm. But the staff was busy frying, so you can be assured of freshly fried goodies! I got the black sesame ball. If you are sensitive to gluten or wheat flour, this is a good alternative, as the coating is made of rice flour. Black sesame paste wrapped in chewy glutinous rice, coated with black sesame seeds and deep fried. Like a deep fried Mochi! Sesame seeds was very fragrant, would have been better if the sesame paste wasn’t as sweet. But overall a nice quick snack!
Flo Y.I mean, it's an Old Chang Kee. They're meant to be a snack stand, for you to grab and go. So there's close to zero expectations on service whatsoever. Even the food items are very much deep fried through and through. So the only consideration, like any other Old Chang Kee, will be the pricing and the value of whatever that they're selling. Grabbed a curry puff, and left. Wide selection though, although the items aren't really my choice of snacks necessarily.
Frank P20230427 - bought bee hoon set A to try. Good portion of bee hoon, 3 fish balls and crispy chicken wing. 20230426 - Bought curry chicken rice to try with foodpanda pro discount. Comes with plenty of rice, 2 potatos and drunstick cut into pieces. Chicken is tender and gravy flavourful. Will be regular for this stall.
