WanderWithWitMunchi Pancakes @ Jewel – Review I’ve been a fan of Munchi Pancakes since their very first outlet, and I still have a soft spot for the classic flavours like peanut butter and coconut. Over the years, they’ve expanded their menu with newer options such as kaya, sesame, and Biscoff, as well as made-to-order mini munchies in flavours like custard, Belgian chocolate, and strawberry cream. While I appreciate their growth and wider variety, I did notice a dip in quality during their expansion phase. The pancakes tended to turn soggy more easily, and the texture felt different from before—possibly due to changes in ingredients. With strong competitors like Ottie Pancakes rapidly expanding, Munchi no longer felt as far ahead as it once was. At the Jewel outlet, prices are noticeably higher compared to other Munchi locations, yet the quality initially felt slightly lower. That said, Munchi Pancakes has always remained one of my go-to favourites, even as more alternatives became available. Revisits: After returning a few times, I noticed a clear improvement in quality. The pancakes were better executed, and the overall experience was more enjoyable. Based on these recent visits, I’m updating my rating to ★★★★☆ (4/5). Revisit – 20 Jan 2026: Great to see new additions to the family. Tried the pineapple pancakes and was pleasantly surprised—it was a delightful experience and a refreshing twist that shows Munchi is still evolving in the right direction. I also picked up a can of their peanut butter, a nostalgic nod to the classic flavour that first made me a fan. Revisit – 21 Jan 2026: Tried the Ribena cream cheese pancake. IMHO, it’s on the sweeter side, but the sweetness wasn’t too overwhelming. It made for a quick and satisfying breakfast snack on the go. I also couldn’t help but feel that it’s an especially good time to enjoy auspicious colours in food—Ribena red and pineapple yellow both feel cheerful and festive.

JunxingStaff serving at jewel outlet took 20 minutes to start preparing my order because they forgot about it after paying… how does that happen… food was cold because they rush and made it after asking about it.
