Mr Teh Tarik Express – Tasty Food, Let Down by Price and Service 30 Woodlands Avenue 2, #01-04/05, Woodlands MRT Station, Singapore 738343 Mr Teh Tarik Express had the makings of a decent pit stop at Woodlands MRT, but ultimately fell short of expectations on a couple of fronts. The food, to its credit, was genuinely tasty — approachably spiced for Indian cuisine, making it accessible to a broader range of palates without sacrificing flavour entirely. However, the pricing feels somewhat ambitious for what is essentially a casual express dining concept, and is difficult to justify given the overall experience. Service was unfortunately inattentive and sluggish, doing little to elevate what could otherwise have been a pleasant quick meal. With so many dining options available around Woodlands, it would be hard to prioritise a return visit here without some noticeable improvement in both value and front-of-house attentiveness.
Ordered 3 fried chicken legs/thighs and 3 begedil (Fried Potatoes) during dinner time. When I went to make payment, I noticed the staff keyed in the wrong items and quantity on the receipt. I ordered chicken, but he keyed fish instead. He claimed chicken and fish were the same price and initially told me it was $5 per piece, so I accepted. However, I later noticed he keyed 6 pappadum instead of 3 begedil (Fried Potatoes) which i ordered. When I questioned him, he said he had to add 6 paddadum because each piece of chicken was actually $6 instead of $5. So when I questioned him again just moments ago it was $5, and suddenly it became $6? The pricing changed within seconds?🤨🤨 This was very confusing and felt dishonest, especially since there was no clear pricing displayed and the staff could change the price however they liked. It made me feel cheated and don’t even want to pay for the food anymore as the situation felt misleading, but since the food had already been heated up, I felt pressured to just pay. To be honest, if the pricing had been explained clearly during payment, I would have been willing to pay since it was my order. What I cannot accept is the lack of honesty and transparency. Very disappointing experience. Poor transparency and unacceptable practice from such a large F&B outlet. Will never patronise them again.
reopened but failed to improve standards. my dad is currently on blood dialysis and he needs something hot. why is the mee goreng served cold when the prata is just warm? questionable.
