A good and spacious Food Centre that offers delicious food at a reasonable price. For vegans and vegetarians, there’s a stall serving delicious local Chinese vegan food (V4 Vegetarian) ~ made without MSG, eggs, milk and alliums. It’s 100% vegan and Pay-as-you-wish (one can decide how much to pay). I sincerely hope more people can come and support this stall, as it’s truly inspiring to see a business put so much heart, love and compassion into their dishes. There are also stalls that serve good Teh Halia (Ginger Milk Tea) and Teh Pandan (Pandan Tea) at truly reasonable prices.

*Dapur 3A Power Kacang Pool @Ayer Rajah Food Centre* It's been a while that I feel compelled to give a review but after returning for a second helping I knew I wanted to. I'm truly not only impressed by the delish Middle Eastern classics Dapur 3A Power Kacang Pool serves but that they really give deep meaning to a degustation delight to make both your happy mouth and stomach dance with joy. And mind you being of mixed heritage my palate is rather well exposed. First off, there is no denying, like their namesake, their signature kacang pool is an absolute sublime delight and winner. The texture of the fava beans or foul medames base is beautifully textured. Not too pureed and with enough light ruffage. Knowing how those who love the soulful pleasurable dish would want either a little more or less they've got a double egg version and add-ons one can easily customise. Now their dish that bowls me over is their shabsuka. I've had and sampled plenty, and theirs is a wonderfully balanced one that everyone in our home who had a bite agree is sensational. It's sweet but from the chunky tomatoes used so it glides well. And the spices used elevates its nuanced flavour. And today with my choice of beef adding a rich flavour threading through its already lovely base it's a flavour bomb from the first taste. Now the one thing that to me helps literally mop and absorb the delicious flavours has to be their bread. Expecting a lightly toasted French baguette or local loaf version I was not prepared but was pleasantly delighted by their softer version. I was so glad I ordered extra for it's such a clever and brilliant pairing to the dish selections they offer. I'll make it simpler. It is hard not to grab something from here when we swing over to this rather nondescript heartland food centre, and so should you. Also, the kind smiling lady who made and served the food is just so sweet and friendly.

Ayer Rajah Food Center is good, but please please avoid Shawarma Man Stall 23. I waited for 35 mins, and when I asked again, apparently he has not started my dishes yet. But he was already making the dishes of others who ordered after me. My daughter and I were already so hungry. It’s a one-man show who collects too many orders, but doesn’t have the capacity to serve. Too bad.
