Mabel NgI was down with gastritis and intended to buy a bowl of porridge. So I came down to Mr Bean NUH and ordered minced chicken and mushroom porridge (overlooked the fact it was the only spicy option). So I went back to the shop requesting for a change of menu. I admitted I ordered wrong and kindly asked for an exchange explaining to them due to my health condition I was unable to take the anything spicy. But received an adamant answer of “No exchange after walking out of the store”. There were a total of 4 staffs there. An auntie who is only chinese-affluent attended to me but apparently she assumes I cannot understand her just because I was speaking in English and kept nudging if her other colleagues could help. But none of the staffs came up. So I spoke to her in Mandarin asking if they can do an exception for a change. She said there is a price difference and I said it’s fine, I can forego that. But this is what the auntie said “那这个粥怎么办? 谁要吃?”. It means “what do we do with this porridge? Who wants to eat?”. I was kinda disappointed because there’s zero empathy in this store. I would seriously question why even open an outlet next to a huge hospital to give off such attitudes to your customers? The amusing fact? There’s not even a single sight of minced chicken or mushroom? For the price of $5.50.
Chuin LeeI walked into a closed glass door at the NUH branch at 1pm today and bruised my forehead and right knee. None of the staff came forward to render any help. I had to remind them repeatedly to place visible markers on the glass door, but it was still not done. It will be a matter of time that another person would get injured when they walk into the glass door.
Jason TanI had a disappointing experience at Mr Bean @ NUH. Firstly, they display a credit card sign but do not provide paywave or credit machine facilities. Secondly, when purchasing five items for takeaway, I was compelled to pay $0.20 for a plastic bag. Thirdly, there was no signage indicating the need to bring own bags. Finally, I question whether the plastic bag is worth $0.20 or if this charge is merely a means to increase profits while claiming to support environmental causes. This should be the govt policy issue as they encouraged to make consumers pay for the bag instead of removing them altogether.. to save the environment issue or global warming problems.
