I had a very disappointing experience with a male staff member (long hair) at Mr Bean today. I was helping a colleague purchase an egg mayo toast and an almond soya drink. When I first informed that staff that I wanted an egg mayo toast, he did not respond. After a brief pause, he simply looked at me with an impatient expression, as if waiting for me to continue. I then asked whether Mr Bean had an almond soya drink, as I was not familiar with the menu and was simply checking. Instead of responding politely, he reacted with a loud and abrupt “Huh?!”, which came across as rude and dismissive. His tone made me feel embarrassed for asking a simple question. I understand that staff may be busy during peak periods (which at that point of time, i was the only customer) but basic courtesy and professionalism should still be maintained. Customers should feel comfortable asking questions about the menu without being made to feel foolish. This interaction left a negative impression and fell short of the customer service standards I would expect. Apparently, reading at the other reviews, I don’t think I am the only one feeling this way about this individual. They should do something about it.
The food is good as always. However, the male staff at this branch (young in his 20s/30s, long hair) is terrible at customer service. He refuses to answer questions from customer and always inpatient with the transaction. Once saw him scoring female staff in front of customers. It looks like he hates his job. The female staffs all are very friendly and smooth.
Would give 0 stars if I can, bought a drink from mr bean at about 1pm, and was served by this tall chubby chinese guy, EXTREMELY RUDE. He did not make any eye contact and did not speak a single word to me. He rudely tapped the QR code to ask me for payment and when I asked him for the price, he refused to verbalise. Instead, he tapped on his calculator and threw the calculator for me to see. I almost thought he was mute, until he spoke to the next customer (a professor).
