Feel very sad that first time eating mala hotpot at Punggol coast hawker centre cost me $20.80 for only 3 portion of vegetable 1 PC luncheon meat and 1 small portion of chicken slice. Feel like being cheated by the hawker.. this is the most expensive mala I've ever eaten.
Tried once and will NEVER ever order again. Shocked that one portion of potato, lotus root, vegetable etc is equivalent to two portions from other mala stores, I do think they purposely cut the food in large portions so that they can charge more. Or maybe the audience they aiming are families or more than 4 persons. Price aside, the mala taste is not what you will get from places like Gong Yuan mala, Zhang Liang, Yang Guo Fu, so very disappointed with it, it’s not even nice at all. Not sure if this is the standard of all Monster Chili stores but I wouldn’t want to waste money again trying them.
Pricing is absolutely abysmal. Paid $43 for mala that consisted of just vegetables and a few pieces of meat. Asked for less oil and salt but my mala was glistening in oil and it was rather salty. The mala wasn't authentic too. First and last time eating here.
