I’ve always enjoyed dining here, but my recent visit was quite frustrating. I was charged an excessive $24.44 for just a few vegetables, and when I asked the staff member (a China woman) about the pricing, she couldn't provide an explanation, especially regarding the two mushrooms in my dish. However, when I was served by another staff member (a Malay woman), the price was much more reasonable. It seems there’s a lack of consistency in pricing, and I felt like I was charged a premium without clear reasoning. I would recommend sticking to the staff member who offers fair prices, as this inconsistency made my experience disappointing. Hopefully, this issue is addressed to ensure all customers are treated fairly.
THERE WAS A BUG, looks like a mosquito in my food. My partner saw it in her bowl under the noodles. I wasn't certain at first but it has legs and a body. I brought it up to the cashier and they just apologised. I always eat at Monster Chili Mala but this was a disappointment. Made me lose my appetite. Wanted to take a pic of the bug but when I showed the cashier, she brought it into the kitchen and I couldnt get a pic.
Never again. Charged $23.30 for 5 types of vegetables. When I tried to get clarification, the response was we charge by weight. We are not a Yong Tau Hu store. Soup was MSG-laden. I cannot recommend.
