As a Muslim, opportunities to enjoy halal Chinese cuisine are always something to appreciate, and I can't really compare it to the non-halal versions for obvious reasons. But what I can say is that the beef roti here is truly a one-of-a-kind delicacy. The menu is pretty straightforward, offering mainly chicken or beef options, but sometimes simplicity is all you need when it's done right. I went for the beef roti, and I absolutely loved it. The roti was crispy on the outside yet remained soft and flavourful within, while the beef filling was savoury and satisfying. There were certain sections that tasted slightly saltier than others, but surprisingly, I didn't mind it at all. The seasoning was still well-balanced and never became too overpowering, making each bite enjoyable from start to finish. We did have to queue, but thankfully it was less than half an hour, and the line moved steadily throughout. The wait felt reasonable, especially considering the popularity of the place. Once we got our food, it was easy to see why so many people were willing to stand in line for it. Overall, Mon Beef Chinese Roti at Harbourfront is definitely worth checking out if you're looking for something different. It's always great to discover unique halal offerings in Singapore, and this is one spot that I would gladly return to whenever the craving strikes.
Alia (Alia)Went here on weekday at 10.30am. no queue. Bought 5pcs beef and i can say this is almost identical with the one i tasted in Chengdu where I ate it almost everyday. And miss it when im back in SG. Glad I found this. The missing ingredients inside is leek. Please please add leek! For those who doesn't like sichuan pepper, i think this version is subtle without losing that "sichuan" taste. Eat it while it's warm!!
