edtayjbMy wife and I were here today (18 NOVEMBER 2025) for early lunch. It was our first time visiting this popular prata joint in Chinatown Point. We ordered the following: 2 plain prata and a teh tarik ala carte for my wife; a Lava Prata Set (with teh tarik) for me; and a 2-piece Vadai for sharing. The plain prata here was above average, the teh tarik was (according to my wife) astringent (ergo she recommends to avoid the less sweet version), the Lava Prata was like a "roti banjir" or prata flooded with 3 different gravies, although there should have been a 4th gravy (palak as advertised) but I was told it was no longer available with the Set (but I was not alerted to this when I placed the order), and the Vadai was nice with crispy edges. Service here was good enough - although the hand-over of food over the counter was not convenient - as it was over the glass food station, which would be challenging for the elderly or customers who are not tall enough. The dining ambience here was comfortable enough - if you manage to snag one of its booths.
N. GanWe visited Makan Prata on September 20 to satisfy our prata cravings and it did not disappoint! We ordered three plates of plain prata—two enjoyed with sugar and one with curry. The prata was freshly made to order at the counter, and you could really taste the difference—it came out perfectly crispy, light, and not oily at all. Absolutely delightful! The staff was very friendly and helpful, even suggesting teh tarik to pair with the prata, which was a perfect match. Payment was smooth and organized, with a printed receipt that included a queue number for collection—very convenient and efficient. It was such a satisfying lunch before our early dinner later in the day. Great food, warm service, and a pleasant experience overall. Highly recommended for anyone craving fresh, quality prata!
