John TanThis is not my first time of poor fries here. Fries served was tough and dry. Difficult to chew. The store was not crowded at all, 10% occupied. Had enough and decided to go to the counter to request another fries instead. (We generally dislike confrontation so it took me time to do that) The staff did gave me a new batch of hot fries which tasted good. But isnt this be the first impression instead? Can really work on the experience of the staff to recognise and avoid serving poor quality in the first place.
TSageIt’s been a while since I have long John silvers but honestly, this brings back good memory. The chicken plank was tasty juicy. The fish was really nice. Good size, price was decent. Love everything about it. Specially, the Chicken plank. Still so juicy and tender n taste nice. Not too dry It’s worth the visit
Captain BroadyThe 2 stars is mainly because of the food. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant was largely empty at around 1.30pm on a Sunday, so atmosphere is 5 stars too. I have not tried Long John Silver in over 10 years and having been encouraged by recent positive reviews on Reddit and Google Maps, I thought I should give it a try. After all, the food quality probably would have improved after all these years. 10 years ago, all I could remember was the food being VERY salty. So, I ordered a $5.30 one piece Alaskan Pollock combo with Sprite and french fries. After a quick 5-minute wait, I tucked into my food and was immediately disappointed. The fried crumb bits and everything in general was just way too salty, it was like as if someone had dumped half a cup of MSG into the box. I think I now understand why someone on Reddit said eating at LJS is a "sodium overdose". Thankfully I had a Sprite to go along with to quench my thirst. The fries were also nothing special — I would still prefer fries from McDonald's or Arnold's over LJS, and the fish was also mediocre. I don't think it's fresh and I tasted more salt than the fish itself. Overall, a 2/5 experience for me. I won't be coming back to LJS other than maybe to get the clam chowder, which is not bad but a little pricey if you get it ala carte. TLDR: Great service, great atmosphere, poor food quality.
