My wife and I engaged with Lagun Sari years before our wedding date where they did very well to guide and assist us every step of the way! We had some hiccups along the way but the planning went smooth overall and Lagun Sari were very accommodating to every demand and request we had. Will recommend to any muslims who would like to engage for their future wedding as well (venue is also easy and accessible to integrate to any malay traditions and religious requirements). Want to give a shoutout to Kak Laila who mainly was the one liasing with us and gave us such an easy time doing so as she was always readily available to assist us. Appreciate her help very much!
We booked the Lagun Sari Majestic Hall for our son’s wedding on 30 May 2026. At the same time, the bride’s family had also booked the adjacent Royal Hall on the same day. As a result, there were two concurrent wedding receptions being held for our respective guests. Overall, the wedding function proceeded smoothly, and many of our guests complimented the venue and commented that the food was delicious. We were initially pleased with the arrangements and hospitality provided. However, at approximately 2:40 pm, I noticed that several food trays at the buffet line were running low, and certain items had not been replenished. In addition, beverages such as Teh Tarik and soft drinks were not being topped up in a timely manner. On two separate occasions when I went to take a drink, I observed that the ice container was almost empty and had not been refilled. I highlighted these concerns to my wife and even joked that I might have to cross over to Al-Azhar Restaurant to purchase additional Mee Goreng and Briyani to ensure our guests had sufficient food. Recognising the seriousness of the situation, my wife immediately informed the wedding planner about the food shortage. We also requested that the staff bring out the Bento sets that had been prepared earlier so that they could be served to our guests. What puzzled us most was the apparent shortage of food. Our package was catered for 500 guests, yet we had intentionally invited only about 420 guests to provide a reasonable buffer. After the event, I conducted my own calculation based on the number of “Berkat” packs remaining and estimated that only around 380 guests had attended the wedding. Some have missed the dates and some had “Kirim” because they could not attend due to other matters. Based on these figures, there should have been more than sufficient food for everyone. This leads me to believe that the operations personnel responsible for monitoring and replenishing the buffet did not adequately carry out their duties. Furthermore, prior to the wedding, it was agreed that food from the Royal Hall would be used to top up the Majestic Hall if required, so as to fulfil the catered quantity of 500 pax. However, from what we observed, this arrangement was either not carried out promptly or was done after we highlighted about it. We were deeply disappointed and embarrassed that some of our guests had to rely on Bento sets instead of enjoying the buffet that had been arranged for them. In any wedding event, ensuring that guests are properly served should be a top priority and closely monitored by the wedding planner and operations manager. After the issue was raised, the wedding planner apologised and instructed us to stop serving the Bento sets, assuring us that she would arrange for food to be transferred from the other hall. She also expressed her frustration with the kitchen staff regarding the situation. While we appreciate her efforts to rectify the matter, the issue had already affected the experience of many of our guests. We find it difficult to accept that such a situation could occur despite the significant planning, coordination, and catering arrangements made for the event. More importantly, we feel extremely sorry towards our guests who were unable to enjoy the full buffet spread, particularly during the period between approximately 2:45 pm and 3:30 pm. This left us feeling disappointed, embarrassed, and concerned that the service shortcomings reflected poorly not only on our family as hosts but also on the reputation and standards associated with Lagun Sari. We hope that this feedback will be taken seriously and investigated thoroughly so that similar incidents do not occur for future wedding couples and their families. A wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime occasion, and hosts place great trust in the venue and its team to ensure that their guests are well taken care of throughout the event.
We had a really pleasant experience with Lagunsari for both their coordination and catering services. Throughout the entire wedding process, everything was handled smoothly and professionally, and we didn’t face any hiccups during the event itself, which really gave us peace of mind. We also heard many compliments from our friends and guests about how good the food was, so we’re really happy with the catering as well. The decor vendor they coordinated with, Merak, brought my mood board vision to life beautifully! I absolutely fell in love with the decor and setup on the actual day. On top of that, any questions or concerns we had leading up to the event were always answered clearly and promptly, which made the whole planning experience much less stressful. Really grateful to the team and kak Laila for making our wedding day feel so seamless and special
