MiaFirst time visiting Kazo Cafe and it was such a great experience. The cafe is aesthetically pleasing, cozy, and comfortable. I really liked the concept of mixing Western and Taiwanese flavours, which made the menu quite interesting. We ordered quite a spread, starting with the crispy cream puff, and it really lived up to its name — 咔滋咔滋. The shell was super crispy, and the Hokkaido cream inside was soft, light, and very pleasant without being too sweet. For mains, we had the classic aglio olio with prawns, which was cooked just right — not too hard and not too soft. The cheesy mushroom sourdough sandwich was comforting and filling, while the curry baked rice was rich and satisfying. The mushroom soup was warm and flavourful, perfect as a side with the garlic sourdough bread. The oyster mee sua comes with a generous amount of oyster and ended up being our favourite, especially with a splash of black vinegar. However, it was slightly on the saltier side. We also tried the classic Taiwanese egg crepe — it was a little over-crispy and slightly tough, but still tasty, especially when dipped into the sauce. To finish, we had the Business as Yuzual drink, which was very refreshing and a great way to end the meal. Overall, everything was enjoyable, from the food to the ambience. Definitely a place I’d come back to again to try more of their dishes.
Paulin ChuaSpecially paid a visit for the Taiwanese crepe as it was quite highly raved abt. Found it not too bad.. slightly above the average. But for the food wise, frankly could give them a miss and go for their desserts/bread instead. The utensils need to be washed and checked again as the utensils were dirty when we used them.
Nur Hadziqah KhanCome for the mains, stay for dessert. Perhaps kazo is trying to ‘optimise’ their menu: here you can find fish and chips and mala. There is no running theme or genre in the mains menu. I’ve only tried two dishes and they’re not amazing, especially given the price. Swensens might hit a better spot, but dessert here is cheaper. And of course dessert is 😍 to be able to sit and have a kazo puff with a coffee is enough a reason to come here. There is also a socket for charging devices but wifi is poor. I appreciated the staff who graciously lent me a charger head and cable when my phone was running out of juice. I visited at about 2pm and could stay almost 2hours as it was not crowded. On staff, there is a male worker, with no nametag, who I find cordial and exceptionally helpful. He speaks Malay and English. He helped me enquire about the case below, one that I’m not satisfied with. Edit: his name is Davy I came during the May promotion pictured but did not realise. I was asked by a worker to order via the QR code. I unknowingly ordered a promotional item, except that it was more expensive via the QR code instead of at the counter. And because I didn’t order at counter, I also didn’t ‘qualify’ to top up my drink or get a free bun as pictured. When I realised there was a promo, I asked about the topup and free bun since I ordered one of the dishes. The helpful staff helped me ask his supervisor, who apparently said no I don’t qualify, but couldn’t let me down in person/himself (‘: I didn’t go at it at the staff of course. But the supervisor could’ve done better. Actually, only that one worker is warm, everyone else is lukewarm if not cold. Anyway, hope other people get to enjoy this promo, maybe it should be auto applied at the online menu? Or, ORDER AT THE COUNTER lol
