I normally expect great tasting desserts from Kazo, but today (6 NOVEMBER 2025) I was sorely disappointed when I took away from this Kazo outlet at Hillion Mall, a Pistachio Dacquoise. There was no hint of meringue to it, which a Dacquoise should embody. It was like eating a dry sandwich of dry cream between dry biscuit crackers between dry sponge cake slices and it was devoid of flavour. And at $4 each, I felt "robbed." Luckily for me, I also took away an always "reliable" Hokkaido Volcano Donut. While the Pistachio Dacquoise was IMO LOUSY, service at this outlet was good.
Filling so little, I thought I ordered plain. Peanut butter and durian filling is spread so thinly, the edges are not even covered. Not expecting it be overflowing with filling but this was a far cry from what I ordered previously. And it’s $4 per waffle (ordered 3) on Foodpanda, in this economy?! Please do better.
I love their cakes and durian puffs—everything tastes amazing! Unfortunately, the service is consistently disappointing. I was standing at the cake display with my 3-year-old son because I wanted to point out which strawberry cake I wanted. The female staff was busy with what looked like an online order, which I understand, so I waited patiently. A few minutes later, another family came in. Although I had been waiting first, she served them before me. Thankfully, when the male staff came over, he immediately acknowledged me, apologized, and packed my order. This isn't the first or second time I've been ignored while waiting to get something. I don't mind waiting if the staff are busy, but a simple "I'll be with you shortly" would make a huge difference. Being ignored is frustrating, especially with a young child.
