Jason KwekIf you are there to find a seat to rest and get some relief from the tropical heat, you have found the place. If you are there to there expecting decent services, please serve youself. But if you are there expecting decent food, you must definitely look else where. Their fish soup consisted of tough and dry fish jerky that was probably frozen from a decade ago; mixed with Minecraft-shaped cubes of tofu and dodgy bits of greens in salty broth. All for $9.81 after GST. Sorry but this is my first and last visit ever.
JeremyIt’s been a few years since I last ate the western food here. Though i believe it was called the poolside or something along that line back then. Happy to report that the food is still as good as my last visit. The food here can be pricier than normal western food options but for the cosy environment and attentive staff i think it’s reasonable. There are discounts available for Safra and 11B holders among others i dont recall. Just pay up front at the counter to enjoy the discounts. One con during my visit were that the forks though nicely stored, the teeth of the forks were quite bent on most of them.
Arctic CharPoolside cafe at The Chevrons. Serves Asian and Western mains and snacks and drinks. Came here on a Wednesday evening, about 30% occupancy. Service was brisk, food was ready in about 5 minutes, piping hot so should be cooked fresh. Ordered the Vegetarian Aglio Olio ($12 + GST) and Kids Cheesy Pasta ($8.50 + GST). The Aglio Olio did not really use olive oil but gravy, and the spaghetti was way too soft to be al dente. Tasted like an Asian version of the pasta. The Kids Cheesy Pasta was just spaghetti, ham, and button mushrooms spammed with cheese. They added capers so some parts were sour. Strange combination. But interestingly the portion size looked to be the same as that of the adult dish despite being cheaper. In conclusion, based on what I ordered, food is passable, not recommended for discerning or picky eaters.
