I am the parent of a student who has been in this school for four years (Nitec & Higher Nitec), and unfortunately, the customer service experience from some staff members has consistently been disappointing. One experience that stood out was with the Korean food stall. The hijabi lady working there has been extremely rude and unfriendly on multiple occasions. At around 10am, when there was barely any queue, I was standing at a safe spot away from others just trying to look at the menu, and she suddenly shouted “WHAT?” at me in a very aggressive tone. On another occasion, I was trying to place my order but couldn’t hear properly, and instead of helping, she responded with attitude. My daughter has also had multiple unpleasant encounters with the same staff member. On one occasion, she was even screamed at despite approaching politely. It is disappointing to see students being treated in such a harsh and unprofessional manner in a school environment. I understand that work can be stressful, but students should not be treated harshly for simply asking questions or ordering food. I also had a poor experience at CVC regarding my EZ-Link card enquiry. I approached a staff member politely to ask for more information, but she dismissed me quickly and gave very little explanation with a rude attitude. In the end, I had to rely on my daughter to ask her peers for help, and they were honestly more informative and approachable than the staff themselves. After reading many similar reviews from other students, it seems like this behaviour is not uncommon. There appears to be a recurring issue with some staff members speaking harshly or dismissively towards students, which creates an unwelcoming environment. At the end of the day, this is a school environment where students should feel comfortable asking questions and seeking help without being spoken to aggressively. I genuinely hope the school looks into these issues and improves the overall student experience.
My experience with Kenneth Beng Huat at ITE was negative. I felt that some students were not treated fairly and that there appeared to be favouritism in certain situations. I also found his communication with students to be extremely rude and unprofessional at times, which made the learning environment uncomfortable for me. I believe all students deserve to be treated with respect, fairness, and professionalism regardless of their background, and I hope these areas can improve in the future.
I was really impressed by ITE college East. The college is well resourced with the best facilities to help the students achieve their dreams. The facility is really big with different courses for the students to choose from. Security around the facility is also top notch. It was a privilege to visit the college and see the good work that is happening there of transforming lives.
