  From the first call to the hotel asking about the complimentary parking, was told to park at the Multistorey carpark at The Plaza. To which we did (at Level 2A) and our experience went downhill from there. After traversing several flights of stairs and going through 2 stairwells and a lift to the 2nd floor we made it to the lobby (finally). Fast forward a little, even their own concierge got lost commuting between the Multi story carpark ?! Looking forward to check-in, the front desk staff (can write to me if you require the name) gave the vibe of not having an ounce of motivation to work. We were then ushered to Level 6 to check-in (as we booked the ParkRoyal Club Premier Room. Now to shorten an even longer story, it was close to 4pm and at check-in I queried about Birthday benefits as I’ve been an avid supporter of their hotel brand and Discovery rewards platform. At this point we had already paid for our 2 nights stay. Looking through the receipt, there was no member benefit discount accorded to the transacted bill which then had me wonder, what is the use of a rewards program that does not well, reward you on your birthday. The app stated 35% off room rates, and the staff on Level 6 explained that it’s for birthday period. Fact is, my birthday is the very next day. The staff explained further that to enjoy such privileges, members must receive an email and a special link. Oddly, I received no such email leading up to today. As mentioned earlier, it was 4pm. We decided to give this hotel a chance and so we toured Arab St for a bit and returned to our room. This was when things just went off key further. Our room was 747. We were surprised to find a plate of sorts with nuts and biscuits almost seemingly like a welcome treat for guests. Oddly, it was placed on a cabinet housing a fire hose reel outside our door. It was even more odd that we hadn’t a clue if it was even for us or? I reached out to a housekeeping staff just 2 rooms down and asked for her supervisor. It was from the supervisor that I learnt that the flat top surface of the hosereel cabinet infront of our rooms is used for housekeeping to place used in-room dining dishes/crockery etc on these cabinets almost making such cabinets located in front of Room 747 and Room 748 as your Tray Return area. To add further, at 8:40pm, I received that birthday link the staff shared with me. Not sure if this is a common industry practice but to provide members with their exclusive birthday treat (link) at about 4 to 5 hours before midnight before the hunter’s. It was clear that I had missed out on the birthday treat. To end to what has been a long day, I requested to check-out immediately. ParkRoyal Beach Road was the absolute worst experience to date. Am sharing so that you don’t have to go through . Also, we managed to book a staycay with their OTHER brands for my actual birthDAY the very next day this time through the Discovery app and enjoyed the birthday benefits. So please . Do choose wisely.

  Every thing is excellent. Nothing negatives. Reception: they will explain everything you need to stay at the hotel. Very good. Room: Amazing view to look over the city. There is a small coffee counter to enjoy drinks. Comfortable beds and very clean. Bathroom: excellent shower. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Good thing is that a filtered water tap is attached to the normal water tap for drinking and cleaning your teeth. Swimming pool: a quite small hut very clean. Breakfast: Huge!! I have never seen such a huge buffet. Hundreds of food to choose. Location: If you like walking, you can walk in the central. You can walk through the shopping malls and bridges, you don’t need to walk outside in the heat to get to the centre.

  During my weeding table was moved by the level 22 VIP manager then it suddenly dropped causing breakages which is embarrassing for this brand claiming something else was at play which in reality is another Fake luxury expirence.
