AFY_NLHI’ve been to the Hei Sushi outlet at Tai Seng several times, and while the food is acceptable, the service definitely could use improvement. The variety of Japanese dishes is ok, and the food quality is consistent. Everything tastes average and well-prepared. However, it’s strange that they’re so stingy with the wasabi; for a Japanese restaurant, that’s quite unexpected. What brings the experience down is the service. The same group of staff, mostly older ladies, have served me on multiple visits, and they’re not particularly friendly. There’s no greeting, no smile, and they seem more focused on assigning seats than welcoming customers. Even when the place is empty, you don’t get to choose your seat — which feels unnecessary. Overall, the food is average, but the service lacks warmth. Honestly, I’ve met friendlier and more polite servers in coffee shops. A little smile and hospitality would go a long way in making the dining experience match the quality of the food. Lastly this is the only halal Sushi outlet closest to my place, but I don't think I will come back here again.
Jumayah SdI brought my friend here for the first time to this outlet because the food quality here is better to other. They patiently answered our questions and made great recommendations. Sushi is fresh and the tempura we ordered is not greasy and very well fried. Overall, a very pleasant dining experience.
Sheep MonkeyUsed to enjoy coming here to eat occasionally. Miss the hot stone beef bowl but too bad it is no longer in the menu. The food tasted pretty bad, all the sushi has too much rice, especially the maki.. the genmai cha is bland too. The only thing that tasted nice is the chawanmushi and salmon roll. Not a fan of their service too as they are always in a rush even if the shop is quite empty, they simply serve us without saying anything when serving the food and taking the empty plates away, and rush us to “settle” the bill. Feel it is a bit rude. But still acceptable.. overall I feel this is such a disappointing experience. Will not come back again.
