Ordered No.1 Bittergourd sliced fish soup $7.5 and it is not tasty at all. Sliced fish in soup was given dory fish..... tasted so weird.
I'm clueless as to why Food Republic allowed this stall to taint it's newly opened venue @ City Square Mall - as it is by no exaggeration when I say this is the worst fish soup I've even had. Ordered the Fried Fish Soup Mini Hotpot with noodles for $9.50. Every single piece of fried fish in it had bones. 9/10 of them were fin pieces. There's not a single bite where I didn't have to pick chucks of bones off. The fish itself were over-fried, under-seasoned, and tasted really old, even on a Sunday night. I wished I had seen their 2* review in their other outlets before I had mine. This does their community no favors by furthur enforcing the stereotype of the bastardisation of Halal-Chinese food.
I ordered slice fish soup with bee hoon extra vegetable. When I got my order after having a sip of the soup, I realized that she gave me deep fried fish. I went back to inform her that this was wrong. She retrieved the soggy deep fried fish from my bowl seemingly to pass on to the next customer. Then she retrieve a small scoop of soup from my bowl to cook a few slices of raw fish. Then pour it back to my original bowl. I then went back to my table to eat it and realized the fish wasn’t even cooked properly. Honestly all these are just unacceptable and unhygienic. I have to dump the entire bowl of noodles for fear of getting sick. Will monitor for food poisoning
