Had tried 88 prawn noodle at #01-56 Old school taste. Dried noodle is tasty, very spicy but shiok. Remember to ask for less spicy if you are not so hot.

25 years never come this hawker centre. Heard just renovation. Impressed with the food choices. So many good Chinese and Malay food. Wanton mee, kolo mee, yong tao fu, chicken rice, tutu kueh. Clean and well ventilated. Parking maybe hard but can park at kinetic mall and walk over.

Sorry for dashing all the foodie's hopes, but Haig Road Market & Food Centre isn't as great as many make it out to be. Food there is mostly average, and I haven't been served bad food except on 1 occassion by a noodle stall, which I will not name here. This noodle stall is newly opened, and has not been around for a long time. Lesson learnt? Buy from hawkers who have a long time presence here and you won't go wrong. And there is no lack of them too. Some of them have been here since I was in primary school and is still in operation. The wanton mee here is very popular although i find it average. Another stall worth mentioning is the fried oyster stall that also serves carrot cake. The auntie here actually fries her carrot cake with thin bits of fish cake. This adds an extra layer of unami that further enhance its taste. This is one of my favourite carrot cakes. Yong tau fu isn't bad but a tad expensive and the cai peng here is pretty affordable(most stalls). Also have a mutton soup stall here which is a plus as mutton soup is hard to find in Singapore. Another ok hawker centre in Singapore, but over-rated by many reviewers.
