GyoGyo delivered a solid halal-certified Japanese meal when we visited on 19 October 2025. The restaurant offers a welcome option for Muslim families seeking Japanese cuisine without compromise. We tried six dishes spanning udon, curry rice, grilled fish, and sukiyaki. Portions were notably generous—the Chicken Sukiyaki came with a substantial mushroom assortment, and the Shioyaki Grilled Sea Bass Set felt complete at S$15.90. The dashi broths in both udon bowls were clean and comforting, whilst the Ebi Fry Curry Rice delivered crispy prawns over a mild curry base. Service stood out when one of the staff chased after us to return our youngest daughter's bracelet—a thoughtful gesture that reinforced the family-friendly atmosphere. Quality was decent across the board, though my wife noted the VivoCity outlet had slightly better execution on a previous visit. For Muslim diners seeking halal Japanese options with reliable portions and attentive service, this remains a practical choice. I appreciate how this business contributes to Singapore's vibrant food scene by making Japanese cuisine accessible to more communities. Recommended for families and anyone seeking halal-certified Japanese fare.

This Halal-Certified place was a pleasant surprise especially in a mall that offers many similar cuisines. The specialise in Grilled Fish and it did not disappoint! The Mero fish we did was properly GRILLED in banana leaf. The char grill flavour was prominent paired with a delicate sauce. The prawn rolls were also very enjoyable much like the Teochew dish Hei Zor (Prawn Dates). The service was very friendly and we were even offered chilli sauce to take away because we enjoyed it so much. Wishing they would bottle and sell their chilli sauce.

Service is non-existent here, save for the warm greeter at the entrance. My soup was spilled after the tray was placed on the table & no apology was given. In fact, no words were uttered - it took me 5 minutes to realize the diner has to turn on the electric heater for the soup to heat up. Err.. A heads up would’ve been nice? That aside, this was not a bad dish. Pretty dang filling, tasty, & certainly better value for money than the grilled fish set we ordered (the fish portion was super measly).
