I was there at 7.57am and they strictly made everyone wait in line and open at 8am sharp, even though they already have the ingredients prepared. Be patient because it is so worth it. The nasi in the nasi lemak.. so so fragrant and coconuty and moist. I try not to eat carbs but this? I whack half plate! Next, the chilli, sedap ~ I had fried chicken wings, egg, fish, hotdog (everything is perfectly cooked). Not sure if it's inconsistent.. but the ikan bilis was (too salty but very big pieces) and peanuts (overfried, bitter). I will still be back because overall it is very delicious and really one of the best nasi lemak in singapore (better than changi village!) and I might consider buying more chicken wings! $5.90 for one satisfying plate! I queued for 20 minutes (5 people in front of me)

What a surprising find on a Sunday morning, and I am so pleasantly delighted by the high quality nasi lemak. I ordered the simplest egg and ikan bilis nasi lemak. It is wrapped skillfully into the same traditional triangular shape like those in Genting Highlands, but it tastes many many times better - perfect coconut rice, crispy hot ikan bilis, and sweet savoury fiery chilli. This will be one of my favourite nasi lemak. Update: I have been here many times, and my favourite combination is always just egg, generous amount of ikan bilis and peanut, and the exceptional chilli. Further update: I also discovered the epok epok here is exceptional. It’s the best thing $2 can buy for three wholesome epok epok.

The food here is undeniably good, especially the nasi lemak, but unfortunately, the service really let the experience down. The lady preparing the food looked visibly unhappy and was unwelcoming when I politely asked for more sambal. Honestly, if serving customers makes you so unhappy, you have to wonder, why even do it? A friendly attitude goes a long way, especially in F&B. Also saw an elderly Chinese auntie before me who only had a $50 note. The man inside told her, in a rather harsh tone, that he didn’t have change. She had to go look for somewhere else just to break the note, it was uncomfortable to watch. Definitely won’t be coming back. Adam Road nasi lemak is way better anyway, food and service.
