Lousy system of ordering food and being served. The guy who took the order told me to just wait for the noodles. I ordered their set of mee kia, with mushrooms, half an egg and fish balls and a drink. Total cost $8. What is shocking is that instead of calling our nos we were waiting for a good while just waiting for her to serve us our noodles. The priority was for online orders and I can understand that if orders come in earlier..however what irks me is asking me and another senior to stand and wait and watch her fulfill all the online orders. A better way would be to give a queue no and we can collect when it is ready. The lady cooking noodles did not get my order correct. I wanted no chilli and she just put in a whole of chilli despite the guy telling her "no chilli". She was obviously stressed keeping up with the orders and I don't think she read the orders at all. Noodles were decent but the half egg cmi if it is supposed to be onsen type of egg. All in - lousy experience! The only saving grace is it is not so crowded at the time I went.
I like the Laksa of Encik Tan. The gravy is flavourful and the thickness is just right. Other foods were generally tasted average and not very special. The service was average and perhaps with a bit of friendliness would make a difference. The atmosphere was quite nice in the morning when it’s not busy and outside sitting wasn’t too hot.
Used to be our go to place for lunch. Love the laksa and fish ball noodles and even the curry chicken chop rice. But our last 2 visits there weren’t spectacular. The curry rice has been less than satisfactory. The chicken was over fried and 1/3 less than before. The sotong was almost invisible. And when questioned the server just shrugged her shoulders to say, ‘it is what it is’. We will never ever eat here again. Is the staff pilfering the food? So disappointed… feels cheated.
